THE ART OF LIFE
balancing life with business
01 / DISCOVERY
Our foundation service is Discovery coupled with Interpretation. This puts the information from discovery into real terms for your business.
This power duo are the most useful tools you can have in your business improvement tool box.
At The Art of Life, we believe that people and culture are the starting point in a business journey from good to great. It is our unique approach to people and culture that creates valuable and useable information for your business to start that journey.
Unlike online surveys and other discovery services we are able to deep dive and really get to the heart of the matter which is often glossed over or not even attempted in depersonalised discovery methods.
Our process quickly identifies key issues and unearths unexpected information which is crucial to your business growth. We then interpret the data into your language (and visual data) that makes it easy for your business to work with.
02 / IMPLEMENT
After Discovery comes a crucial step Implementation. This aspect is so often poorly executed.
Focusing on resolving those issues that are important to all the stake holders, your customers, your staff, the senior management, the owners and shareholders, this is the next step in The Art of Life improvement process.
The honest conversations that occur with our discovery process are rewarded with robust feedback, delivery and recommendations. We have proven HR tools to help with the implementation process, strategic partners and professional networks that can provide the change support needed to lift your organisation to the next level with ease.
Leadership, accountability and responsibility are consistently found to be the biggest challenges facing most SME businesses. Our next level of implementation is where our services comes to the fore for those businesses committed to continued development growth and improvement. By introducing governance and implementing a governance structure we can help you achieve your next phase of success.
03 / GOVERNANCE
If your board room looks more like a portacom or the kitchen table than a corporate board room, then we are the people to talk to.
Do your directors wear Hi-Vis all day and not Armani? Do they answer to the titles Mum, Dad, Son and Daughter? Then you have found yourself in the right place.
We understand the challenges around family relationships in business and the dynamic of small to medium sized businesses wanting to grow.
We understand that often many hats are worn and resources can be stretched. It's helping to negotiate these diverse challenges in combination with strategic thinking that is our strength.
People and culture are the starting point in a journey from good to great.
We make the difficult easy and specialise in pragmatic solutions for family owned SME business. You can choose from Governance packages that include a variety of HR support, which is perfect for those businesses who are experiencing growth and need that extra support.
we can set up an appointment for a complimentary consultation to tailor a package to your specific needs.
WHY THE ART OF LIFE?
WHY THE NAME
WHO WE ARE
The art of life and business; why?
In 1930 one of founders of modern economic theory John Keynes wrote an essay Economic Possibilities for our Grandchildren.
In the essay Keynes (picture from Wiki) made some predictions which have proved quite prophetic.
He predicted that within 100 years’ in western society, providing for the basics of life would no longer be a problem but managing this abundance would lead to a “nervous breakdown” of society. That people would use money to attempt to buy happiness; todays preoccupation with unhealthy forms of escapism is a perfect illustration of this (google affluenza).
Keynes went on to offer a solution “The strenuous purposeful money-makers may carry all of us along with them into the lap of economic abundance. But it will be those peoples, who can keep alive, and cultivate into a fuller perfection, the art of life itself and do not sell themselves for the means of life, who will be able to enjoy the abundance when it comes.” (Keynes, 1930)
